My sister-in-law graduated from college almost a year ago, and I promised her a new quilt as a gift. She just moved into an adorable house and has been decorating up a storm. She chose the colors to match her room – grey, plum, white, and a hint of lime. I loved the color combo and she loved the end result!
Every year since I finished college, I’ve made the trip down to Western Kentucky for the AQS show in Paducah. I stay with my friend Jenna in Murray (about 45 minutes away) so I get to visit with her AND spend all week looking at quilts and buying fabric. It really doesn’t get much better than that.
This year I spent more time looking at the show quilts. In years past I spent more time shopping for cool new fabric for my stash, but this year I felt particularly inspired by the quilt show itself. I took time to study the award-winning craftsmanship and felt compelled to start working on show quilts myself. Maybe next year!
At the request of many customers, I’ve designed a new camera bag to hold a camera+lens attached, and one extra lens, for a nice compact bag to take with you on your travels. Check it out in the shop!
Recently I got a Bernina embroidery machine, too. It’s an older model (Artista 165E) but I love it just the same, and it produces lovely monogrammed messages for custom orders.
